This photo is another favorite taken from the Knoll's puppy blog of Nadja's three girls. This is Fiona at six weeks while still in Mississippi, Daniel Knoll is holding her. It is a great shot depicting just one moment of the enormous amount of time and attention the Knolls gave these puppies. I am certain that no litter I have had has been more socialized!
I brought the puppies to Ohio late this month and have decided that Fiona is the one I will keep. She has a new name - Seiko. I have been saving the name Seiko for my S litter for about a dozen years.
Stan Knoll was right when he said there's not a bad 'un in the bunch! I thought it might take weeks to select which puppy would stay with me but Seiko regularly caught and kept my attention. Some of the reason, I think, is because she reminds me of Nexus when he was a puppy. In 24 hours of steady observation and the puppies' first two tracks, I pretty much knew she was the one for me. Sometimes it works that way.
Hooptie is now called Sage and will next month be going to live with Maxine Brinker, Ginger (16), and Nutmeg (7) in Illinois. Maxine will have another spice girl moving in!Sonic's name will remain Sonic which is a great name for her. She is a big girl who is showing some big tracking talent! First and foremost, I plan to put her in a tracking home. I am in no hurry to do it.
Many, many thanks to the Knoll family for Sonic, Sage, and Seiko and puppy raising extraordinarily well done!
