VC = Versatility Certificate

Dog has earned a minimum of 18 versatility points according to a 'pick and choose' program of various acheivements in conformation, field, obedience, tracking, earthdog, and agility

For more information, see Dachshund Club of America Versatility Program

*Note*  In August 2003, Nexus was the youngest - at 17 months - to earn the Versatility Certificate. In late 2006 the Dachshund Club of America made the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) designation a  mandatory requirement for its Versatility Certificate. In my view, and I am by no means alone, this was an ill-advised and illogical decision. As long as this requirement remains, I, co-founder of the DCA Versatility Certificate Program in the early 1980s, will not be participating in it.
